Happy Tuesday! Last week we discussed the essential product features to highlight on your homepage - this week, it’s all about what brand features to include!
Why highlighting your brand matters
TLDR; In addition to looking for important product details/features - online shoppers are also looking for brand attributes and information.
Why does this matter?
New site visitors don’t know who you are or your policies
Testing shows that on smaller DTC sites, visitors want to get to know your brand
Shoppers who feel brand affinity are more likely to convert and become loyal
How to implement this:
Add policies: like free shipping/returns, sustainability, or subscription services.
Clarify unique discounts & offers: is there a trial period, a BOGO discount, etc.
Showcase your brand values: using about us content, reviews, links to press, etc.
For example, Death Wish Coffeeshowcases its subscription policies/offers
Their discounts/exclusive offers are highlighted (10% discount & exclusive products)
Their brand identity is strong (the skull and red, black & white is consistent)
Not pictured here - but they also feature customer reviews and quotes!
Key takeaway:
In addition to highlighting your products and product features - don’t forget to let your brand shine!
This will help consumers to get to know you AND your products.
This week's reading list
Stay in the loop by reading this week's latest news & resources👇
📘 What I'm reading: Courage is Calling by Ryan Holiday. “The obstacles between where you are right now and where you want to go are not as numerous as you think”.
The chapter in the book where this quote is coming from might even be better than the point I highlighted; it’s called: There are always more before they are counted.
🎙️ Topics on my mind: you might not know this - but my brother Coen and I co-founded Instant together (along with our other co-founder Doeke of course!). Lately, we've been discussing how to run a family business.
